EXTERIOR WOOD PICTURE STYLE STORM WINDOWS
ALUMINUM PICTURE STORM WINDOWS Air-Tite Storm Windows and Doors' picture windows are composed of a main frame with a removable sash. Picture windows are available as a single one lite or can be split into two or three lites either vertically or horizontally. Interchangeable screens can also be ordered as an option. The main frame of the window is weather stripped with a nylon pile and comes with a pre-applied closed cell foam tape on the mounting flange for ease of installation. The removable sash is a tuck and drop design with a clip on each side. To remove the sash for cleaning, simply loosen the clips on the sides and lift the panel up and out. The glass is glazed into the sash via a marine wrap-around glazing boot. A wide variety of glass or acrylic options are available. The main frame and internal sash are made of extruded aluminum 6063 T-5 with a typical wall thickness of .060. The aluminum finishes are available in clear anodized, bronze anodized and white enamel. Plain mill finish is not offered. The corners are mechanically fastened using stainless steel screws. The meeting rails are an inter-lock design, complete with nylon pile weather stripping. A bottom expander placed on the main frame is optional at no extra charge to accommodate an out-of-square opening and/or bevel sills.
ALUMINUM SLIDING STORM WINDOWS Air-Tite's aluminum sliding storm windows are a spring tension designed window. All configurations (vertical and horizontal sliding) are manufactured using the same main frame and sash parts. Spring placement is the major difference in determining vertical versus horizontal sliding capabilities. A technologically advanced spring tension design allows the windows to be held open in virtually any position, and the removal of the sash for cleaning is as simple as compressing the sash against the spring loaded track and lifting it out. As a fail safe, vertical sliding windows have a notched jamb to accommodate oversized windows as well as heavier sound control designs. The glass is glazed in the sash via a marine wrap-around glazing boot. A wide variety of glass options are available. Standard screening is 16 x 18 mesh charcoal color fiberglass. Many optional screen materials are available, such as copper, brass, stainless steel, bright or charcoal aluminum. For ease of installation, the main frame of the window comes with 1/8 inch x 3/8 inch closed cell foam tape pre-applied to the nail fin of the frame. The main frame and internal sash are made of extruded aluminum 6063 T-5 with a typical wall thickness of .060. The aluminum finishes are available in clear anodized, bronze anodized, and white enamel. Plain mill finish is not offered. The corners are mechanically fastened using stainless steel screws. The meeting rails are an inter-lock design, complete with nylon pile weather stripping. A bottom expander, placed on the main frame, is optional at no extra charge to accommodate an out-of-square opening and/or bevel sill.
